Class of 2025 - Graduation Dates & Fees
Communication today is to make parents and guardians aware of the dates of our graduation events and the fees associated with each event. Just a reminder the first graduation list was posted on October 31st (see attachment for list). Students are required to be on the grad list in order to participate in any graduation events. Students not on the grad list at this time should make an appointment to see their guidance counsellor as soon as possible, if they have not already done so. The second graduation list will be posted by December 18th.

Graduation Ceremony:
The graduation ceremony will take place at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 2:30 pm. All students on the graduation list will have the opportunity to participate in this celebration. The graduation fee associated with this event is $75.00. The graduation fee can be paid online through your mycbe account. Fees have been added to the accounts for those students who are on the grad list.
All guests wanting to attend the graduation ceremony will require a ticket. Tickets will be sold through Ticketmaster from April 22nd to May 13th. Anyone wanting to purchase tickets for this event will need to have a Ticketmaster account set up prior to the purchase date. More information will be provided on the details of purchase closer to the date. Families will be able to purchase a maximum of 6 tickets in the first round. If tickets remain following the first round, on May 6th families may have to opportunity to acquire more tickets.
Graduation Banquet:
The graduation banquet will take place at the BMO Centre in the Palamino Room at Stampede Park on Friday, May 16, 2025. More information will follow on the purchase date for these tickets. Ticket price for this event will be $115-120/ticket. An exact price will be communicated in the new year. Tickets will need to be purchased using your mycbe account. Students Turning 18:
A reminder that parents of students turning 18 within the school year will lose access to all school information, including the ability to pay school fees. In order for parents to regain access to PowerSchool students need to visit the main office and complete a consent form.
Graduation Requirements:
Just a reminder, these are the requirements for participation in the Graduation Ceremony on May 13, 2025. There are four different scenarios depending on individual circumstances.
1. Students working to earn an Alberta High School Diploma will:
● be on track to attain the full graduation requirements by the end of June 2025.
● be set up to earn at least 100 credits by end of June 2025.
● have a grade of at least 50% in all required courses by the second reporting period of the second semester.
Specific Requirements to earn an Alberta High School Diploma:
● English 30-1 or 30-2 ● Social 30-1 or 30-2
● Math 20 level ● Science 20 level
● PhysEd 10 ● CALM
● 10 credits from any CTS, Fine Arts, Languages (OPTIONS)
● 10 credits from any 30-level course, excluding English and Social
2. K&E Students working to earn a Certificate of High School Achievement will:
● be on track to attain the requirements set out by Alberta Education for this program by the end of June 2025.
● be set up to earn at least 80 credits by end of June 2025.
● have a grade of at least 50% in all required courses by the second reporting period of the second semester.
Specific Requirements to earn a Certificate of High School Achievement:
● English 20-2 or 30-4 ● Social 10-2 or 20-4
● Math 10-3 or 20-4 ● Science 14 or 20-4
● PhysEd 10 ● CALM
● 5 credits from CTS advanced level
● 5 credits from work experience
3. Students in an EAL or LEAD program wanting to participate in the graduation ceremony:
● MUST have no more that 16 absences throughout the school year.
● MUST be passing all EAL or LEAD courses, and not be eligible for a returning 12-year.
4. Students in the PLP program wanting to participate in the graduation ceremony:
● PLP students will be selected through their classroom teachers to participate.
It should be noted that ALL students MUST be a student in good standing throughout the school year. (ie. attendance, behaviour)
